Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Isn't blue his color?! Buck is a young, fun-loving pup who’s around 2 years old and full of heart. He showed up clearly missing someone—maybe looking for his family—but despite our best efforts, no one came forward. Now, we’re confident his furever family is out there, and Buck is ready to bring his loyal, playful spirit into your home. Buck is the total package: Crate/Kennel Trained Gets along with dogs, cats, kids, and everyone he meets Heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines LOVES toys (but is gentle and doesn’t destroy them!) Buck has a sweet personality and forms strong bonds with his people. He’d be an amazing addition to any family looking for a friendly, well-mannered companion with a goofy side (just ask him about that bench he “fit” on!).

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
