Dog Breed: American Bulldog (medium coat). Say hello to Marlin, a 6-month-old American Bulldog with a heart full of love and a spirit bursting with energy! Marlin is full of spunk, with a playful personality and a big smile thatâs sure to brighten your day. Whether heâs romping around the yard or curling up next to you for a nap, Marlin is happiest when heâs by your side. Currently Marlin has a possible tibial injury and is being monitored. Marlin has has x-rays done and his future owner would have to bring him to his follow up appointment to assess what further diagnostics are needed. Toronto Animal Services would cover the cost for refferal appointment and surgery if needed. His owner would just have to stick to a restricted acivity regimine as Marlin heals. This sweet boy isnât just looking for a homeâheâs looking for a best friend for life.Heâs at that perfect age where heâs curious, eager to learn, and ready to bond deeply with his forever person. Marlin would thrive with someone whoâs active, affectionate, and ready to include him in their everyday adventures. Overview:
Originally used in the 17th century for bull baiting—a wagering sport in which dogs fought bulls in a ring—Bulldogs had taller, more athletic frames (much like the Olde English Bulldogge). When bull baiting was outlawed in 1835, Bulldogs were bred to be kinder, heavier and more relaxed. However, American Bulldogs—which were brought to the U.S. before this breeding pattern—retained the size and strength of the original Bulldogs. Great family dogs, American Bulldogs are sweet to children. They love family-oriented occasions and want to be involved. With proper training and socialization, you’ll find them outgoing and exceedingly loyal. Some American Bulldogs will go to great lengths to protect their masters. Tough and determined, American Bulldogs have an impressive stamina and strength. They are always game for playtime in the back yard or working in the field.
