Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Owen is a gentle and playful pup with a sweet soul and a soft spot for naps. He’s got the whole “work hard, nap harder” lifestyle down – he’s an early riser (around 5:30–6am) and will politely let you know he’s ready to start the day with some tail wags and morning chatter. He enjoys the company of people and does best when introductions are taken slow and steady. Once he warms up, he’s a loving, loyal companion who just wants to be near his people. Owen could thrive as a solo pup or might enjoy having a canine friend to pal around with . He’s currently heartworm positive and beginning treatment, but don’t let that scare you—he’s in good hands and ready to heal with love and care. This sweet boy also rides well in the car (once he’s lifted in—he’s still mastering that part) and hops out like a pro. He’s a truly nice, easygoing dog with a good heart and a lot of love to give. Ready to wake up to this sweet face and enjoy quiet mornings and cozy naps together? Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
