Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Kiri! People tell me all the time how adorable I am. I don’t like to brag (okay, maybe a little), but they say I’m calm, soft, unique-looking, and just an all-around good boy. I got to run errands with my foster this weekend, and let me tell you—I was the star of Home Depot. Everyone wanted to meet me! I especially love kids, and if I see one, I can’t help but try to follow along. Everyone debates what kind of pup I am. (I like to keep the mystery alive.) I’ve got big paws, so people think I’ll get a lot bigger—but so far, I’m holding steady. Oh, and my ears? Total conversation piece. Will one stand up? Both? Neither? Stay tuned! At home, when the kids return, I greet them with a happy little bark chorus. My foster thinks I might have some hound in me, because I’ve got a “singing voice” I love to use at dinnertime. But don’t worry—I don’t bark at mail trucks, garbage trucks, or strangers at the door. My bark is just my way of talking to the people (or dogs!) I love. So if you’re looking for a sweet, calm, funny pup with floppy ears, a mystery breed mix, and a whole lot of love to give, I’m your guy. Adopt me and let’s write our story together. He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Kiri is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT KIRI!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
