Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier / Mixed (short coat). **Chelsea, a Five-month-old Mixed Breed Puppy** Meet Chelsea, a lovable 5-month-old mix of Terrier breeds and possibly a little pug a s well. She was rescued from the Fresno ICE raids, where she and her brother, Manny, were left abandoned when their family was taken away. Chelsea is thriving at Rompin Paws, and ready to find her forever home. At first, Chelsea may seem a bit shy. This is understandable, considering she spent four long weeks in a noisy shelter during her critical early development. But now that she’s free, Chelsea is blossoming! She’s learning to trust, enjoying playtime with her puppy friends in the yard, splashing around in the puppy pool, and snuggling up for cozy naps on my shoulder. Chelsea is a smart girl who is eager to learn, and with consistent training and positive reinforcement, she will flourish. Having another small dog in her future home would be a great advantage for Chelsea, providing her with a companion to guide her as she embarks on her new life. Chelsea is up to date on all her puppy vaccinations, though she will need a rabies shot at 6 months during her veterinary checkup. As of Sept 15, 2025, she weighs 16.5 pounds and is on a healthy track. More than just a pet, Chelsea is a potential best friend, ready to fill your home with love and joy. As she matures, she’s expected to reach a perfect size of around 22 pounds—just the right companion for anyone looking to add a compact furry friend to their life. Are you ready to welcome Chelsea into your heart and home? Are you ready to open your heart and home to Chelsea? The adoption fee is $450.00, and all funds will go directly towards her care and helping us rescue more dogs in need. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
