Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Meet our little underdog (literally!) Ginger was found as a stray but is now ready for a home to call her own! She was so badly matted when we found her, that her haircut is… well, let's just say it’s a work in progress. But don’t worry — once her fur grows back, her outsides will match her incredible insides! Ginger is a total Velcro dog — seriously, she thinks any space between her and her person is way too much space. Need a shadow? She’s your girl. Need a cuddle buddy? She’s on it. Need a reason to smile? She’s your new best friend. She had a rough start to life but is seriously one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. Bones are basically her favorite thing in the whole world — give her one and you’ve got her forever attention. She’s working on housebreaking and is eager to please — with a little patience and love, she’ll be a pro before you know it! Ginger is current on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. She is about 4 years old and weighs 10 pounds. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who sticks by your side through thick and thin, this girl is waiting for you. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
