Description
Dog Breed: Airedale Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Bane, a small guy weighing 17 pounds, was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. He is an Airedale mix with black and tan coloring with the typical medium curly fur you would expect of an Airedale. He is a year and six months old. Airedale mixes are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and playfulness. They often are high energy and like lots of exercise. But then, he is a mix, so it will be interesting to see what other personality traits he has. Bane enjoys playing in the company of other dogs. He is comfortable with the kids. It is not known if he has met a cat. Little information was provided about him because he was pulled from another shelter (which probably saved his life). So, it would be best to start with a refresher course in house, leash, and crate training. Bane will need someone who will be comfortable training a young adult dog. He will need the right guidance mixed with consistency, repetition, and patience. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping him master those daily routines. Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. (It will also be an opportunity to find out what commands he knows). It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. A secure back yard would give him free time to play and burn off extra energy. At home he will benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. That will keep him from being bored. Wrap this boy up in your arms and feel the love intensify. Bane is ready to become a part of your life. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Bane is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
