Description

Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (long coat). Female - 4 months - 18 lbs - Microchipped - Spay Contract - PA Hello! My name is Hina and I am a 4-month-old, 18 lb female. My adoption is conditional on my adopter having me spayed at 6 months of age (September 2025). I am doing well with housetraining and am already crate-trained. I am still a puppy so I will need to be crated when I am left home alone. I actively seek affection from my family and will hop into their laps for snuggles! I can be scared of new people and will create space then approach when I’m ready, which is quickly with people who let me make the first move—then we can be great friends with lots of snuggles involved! I love to play with other dogs and would love having a confident, playful canine sibling or I could also do well by myself. I am playful with toys as well, especially balls or squeaky toys! I cannot go to a home with cats. I walk well on leash and ride well in the car. I have learned sit, come, leave it, and crate cues. I would love to continue learning and working on my socialization as I grow up! Could you be my family? Follow me on Facebook: #EchoDogHina For more information, please contact adoptionsechodogs. Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. Visit .echodogs/available-dogs to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog IS available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $350. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required! German Shepherd Dog

A.K.A.: Alsatian, Alsatian Wolf Dog, Shepherd Dog, GSD, Deutscher Schäferhund, Schäferhund, Berger Allemand, Pastore Tedesco, Perro de Pastor Alemán, Alsatian Dog
Overview:

The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
