Description
Dog Breed: Terrier (medium coat). Meet Nickel! Nickel is a 7-year-old terrier who could easily pass as Totoâs bigger, more handsome cousin! This sweet boy is easy to leash up and a joy to walk, though he might pull a bit when something exciting catches his eye. Friendly, affectionate, and loyal, Nickel thrives on quality time with his favorite humans. Heâs happiest when itâs just him and his people, and he appreciates walks where he can keep his distance from other pups. Nickel would love a home where he can be the star of the show as the only dog. With his big heart, dashing good looks, and charming personality, Nickel is ready to be your best friend! Email adoptyoloshelter to meet Nickel at our shelter in Woodland! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
