Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: Auburn, Alabama Meet Billie! She is a super smart little lady, and loves to be involved in any activity going on around the house. She is about 2 years old, so she has all the fun energy of a young dog, but with none of the struggles of raising a puppy! She’s bouncy, happy, and overall just a lovebug. She loves to run and play, but is just as happy to snuggle up on the couch in the evenings. She is both crate-trained and house-trained. She loves to play outside and has been a perfect lady on a leash, as well as being excellent off-leash. She is friendly with other dogs and loves having a playmate, but she wants to be the boss, so she'd be best suited for a family who understands dog body language and can comfortably manage pack dynamics. She has not been exposed to cats yet, but she didn’t show any interest in our goats or horses. Billie was surrendered by her owners when they had to move, but she has already undergone professional training, so she comes with pretty great obedience! She is very food motivated, and is happy to do anything you want for a treat. She is very intelligent, and in the few weeks I’ve had her, she has been a great addition. But she is ready for her forever home! Her ideal home would be a place where she can run and play, maybe with a few doggie friends that don’t mind letting her be the lady in charge. She hasn’t been tested with kids, but I think she would be fine with dog-savvy kids. She is completely vetted, healthy, and ready to find her perfect family. Please contact mldees19gmail. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
