Name: Tina Breed: Staffordshire terrier mix Age: unknown but estimated 1.5-2 years Vaccines: no but I just paid 1,000 at the vet for her skin infection and ear infection so that it’s cleared up. In addition, I’ve paid for her worms treatment so that’s cleared up Neutered: no Chip: no Temperament: super friendly and loving with humans and dogs (haven’t tried with cats yet) Enjoys: going on walks and snuggles Potty trained?: yes Coat: brindle with white face Eyes: yellow golden brown Get along with dogs? Yes Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? Unknown since I don’t have kids but she loves me and my husband and all other humans How long have you had the pet for? 2 days Reason for rehoming? In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
