Description
Dog Breed: Smooth Collie (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit .almosthomeohio and complete our online application! Note: Sparky, Peaches, Spirit, Starr and Roman are siblings. they are 8 mts old Starr is an independent lass who loves to explore the great outdoors and chase the birds she sees. Little goes unnoticed in Starr’s atmosphere. When playing with her toys, she can be a bit stubborn about sharing. Smart as they come, Starr wants to meet new people on her terms. As for her fellow canines, Starr is still figuring out the doggy social scene. She is okay with them, but doesn’t know what is expected of her so is a bit reticent, but we know she’ll figure it out. In the words of her foster, “ If you give this sweetie time, I think her future is boundless as a super loving and devoted collie…maybe resilient is a good word for her.” Might Starr be your inspiration, and you hers? Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
