Although he can be nervous at first and needs slow introductions. We haven’t seen Slate with cats or kids, but he can be tested! Special Adoption Considerations: At this time, we recommend that Slate be the only dog in the home. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Slate is Looking For: His forever family! This handsome spotted boy dreams of spending his days adventuring with his new family taking long sniffy walks. Catahoula's are strong-willed dogs; he would do well with an experienced owner who is willing to set him up for success with training and structure! What do you say? Whether he's happily gnawing on bones, nestling into a pile of soft blankets, or happily prancing around like a horse, Slate's zest for life is contagious. Slate does well on leash for the most part, although is sometimes a little frightened by new things. He is terrific in his crate and goes in without a fuss! He is also very food-motivated and eager to please. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
