Description
Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Penny and Coco came from a hoarding situation. They are a precious bonded pair of short hair Dachshunds. Penny is a red, and Coco is a piebald. Both are mini Dachshunds. One year old, and 10 pounds each. They should be the only dogs in the home. Coco is afraid of bigger dogs. NOT good with cats. Penny and Coco are both characters. Sleep in the big bed, and Penny will bump you with her nose when it's time to get up. Coco loves to play, and gets so excited when you come home. Not completely potty trained, but as long as you take them our multiple times a day...they do pretty well. NEED A HOME WITH A YARD BECAUSE THEY LOVE TO RUN AND PLAY. The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge. Their small size and relatively low exercise requirements make them well-suited for apartment living, and they can be wonderful companions for families, though early socialization is key, especially with children and other pets.
