Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Allie! Allie is a sweet but shy 5 month old mixed breed puppy. Unfortunately we don't know what breed she is but she is very cute. She currently lives with dogs and kids and does wonderful. She is working on housetraining and doing well as well as crate training. She is ready to be loved and spoiled! She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and prevention as well as dewormed. Her adoption fee is $400. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
