Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). MAX GET MY CLOAK - 1-5 years old, 55 pounds, friendly dogs, active Any fans of The Grinch out there?!! Max Get My Cloak arrived at VBACAC as a stray with, luckily, a microchip which gave us his name. And you gotta love it! Max Get My Cloak is jumpy and barky behind the cage bars but outside he’s a friendly and seemingly happy boy. This working dog is big and pulls on the leash so hold on tight! He has places to go, people to meet and jobs to complete! Max Get My Cloak is a decent size boy either light to white fur mostly covering his body. He has a black muzzle, eyes and ears. Super cute! Max is energetic and ready to go on any adventure you choose. We do not yet know how he feels about other dogs do we will update this bio when we learn more. Until then, come on out to meet Max Get My Cloak (I love saying his name) and bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet. * Please also be ready to supervise. Max Get My Cloak is currently in a back kennel so if you don’t see him when you come in, please just ask.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
