Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Junie B is a LabraDoodle that weighs around 80 pounds. This girl is so sweet and loving. She wants to be with her people and loves other dogs. A medium to large dog would be best because she is an energetic player. She loves, loves children but 10 years or older would be best as her children manners are not the best yet. She is so smart and has been through Obedience training and knows quite a few commands. She would be great for an active family that loves adventures because she will be right there with you. We do think having an area for her to run in daily would be best. She is house and crate trained also. Junie loves to fetch but won't necessarily give it back. lol. She has never been around cats so we can't attest to whether she is good with cats or not. When you sit, she loves to crawl in your lap for cuddles. She also loves car rides and is a water dog. Junie B is spayed, microchipped and current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention. Overview:
The Labradoodle is a mix between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. Both breeds are excellent for children and families. The Labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia in Victoria. Conron's aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Sultan, a dog from this litter, displayed all the qualities Conron was seeking and worked as a guide dog for a woman in Hawaii for ten years. Although Guide Dogs Victoria no longer breed Labradoodles, they are bred by other guide and assistance dog organizations in Australia and other places. The Association for the Blind of Western Australia has introduced Labradoodles into their training program, and their first, Jonnie, graduated in November 2010. Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs as well as being popular family dogs. The Norwegian Royal Crown Prince and Princess own a Labradoodle.
