Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi there! I’m Cason and I’m theeeeeee cutest 4 month old, short-legged, long bodied boy of some sort. I’m about 10 lbs right now and should be around 20-30 lbs full grown. Because I’m so tiny right now, I’ll need a family with kids 8 and older, or no kids. My perfect day? I would love nothing more than to sit on your lap and be carried around. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs (and cats) and playing too, but people are really where it’s at for me. I would do great as an only dog or part of a pack, but having someone home more often than not would be ideal, I don’t like being left alone, and I tend to complain about it. Potty Training? …Ok listen, I am still a baby BUT on a regular schedule I do great and I sleep through the night. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
