Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) / Bernese Mountain Dog (medium coat). Kona needs a new living situation. Kona is a sweet 5 year old Doodle who loves attention, belly rubs, and walks. She loves to be outside in all seasons (especially the snow). While she is amazing with young kids, a house with a calm demeanor is best for her. She is submissive in nature and gets along with other dogs. She will try to play, but if it gets too rough she will instantly roll on her back to let you know she’s done. She has met a cat and paid little attention! She has no issues with storms or fireworks, but does not love the vacuum or car rides. She knows basic commands and is crate trained and loves to snuggle where ever she can. She weighs about 60 pounds! Kona would do best with an experienced dog owner who is familiar with Doodles. She can be nervous when first meeting her, but she warms up easily once she knows she is safe. Kona is the sweetest! Apply at projecthopearf

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
