Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 550.00. Meet Jethro! This 7-month-old sweetheart is as chill as they come—cool, calm, and completely lovable. You’d never guess he’s still a puppy with how well-mannered and easygoing he is. We think he’s a hound mix, and whatever his blend is, it’s pure perfection. Jethro is an A+ cuddler, fetch enthusiast (with an impressive drop-it game!), and loyal companion who just wants to be near his people. He adores romping around with his puppy foster brother and would thrive in a home with another playful pup or older kids (10+) to keep him company. He is potty trained, sleeps through the night, and is kennel trained—though he’d much rather snuggle up somewhere cozy. Jethro’s eager to please, gentle-natured, and ready to bring his sweet soul into his forever home. Adoption application: toolkit.rescuegroups/of/f?c=QTRBVTPT All of our adoption fees include veterinary exam, age appropriate vaccines (up to date at time of adoption) spay/neuter, microchip and deworming. Puppies $550 Kittens $200 Adult fees vary, please message our page.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
