Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. Adoption Fee: $700.00. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Clover is available for adoption. He is 7 years old and weighs 6 lbs. His adoption fee is $700.00. Clover is healing so nicely from his dental surgery, and his new toothless grin sometimes lets his little tongue peek out instead of his tooth—it’s as adorable as his tooth. To help support his kidneys, he’s on Science Hill K/D food; he’s not a fan of the wet food, but with a little water, his kibble mash does the trick. He still loves his walks and passes by many neighborhood dogs without fuss—though there are a few he barks at regularly and loudly! We tried a stroll through the downtown area; however, it was a bit overwhelming with so many new dogs at once—too much dog overload for Clover’s liking. We are going to continue to practice. At home, he’s happiest sitting by an open window(he has never barked while inside), curled next to you, or snuggled in a blanket as long as you’re in the room! He’s also the perfect quiet companion while you’re working on the computer. He remains a loyal little shadow, always ready for an adventure, and will jump into any bag in hopes it means he gets to come along wherever you are going! Clover is staying with Dana in Whippany, NJ.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
