True to her breed, she's an active girl who thrives on engagement. Khloee will need a home that understands her need for consistent mental stimulation and plenty of physical exercise to keep her happy and well-behaved. Daily walks, runs, or secure playtime in a yard would be perfect for her, she absolutely loves fetch and practicing her cues! Khloee is dog selective, so while she enjoys canine company, we'll need to arrange a meet-and-greet here at the shelter to ensure she's a good match with any existing dogs in your home. Due to her high prey drive, Khloee requires a home with no cats or other small, free-roaming animals. We also recommend a home with children aged 8 and up, as enthusiastic and sometimes jumpy/mouthy behavior is best suited for older, more dog-savvy kids. If you're ready to embrace the intelligence of a dog like Khloee, she promises to be a loyal and rewarding companion! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
