Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Meet Rozie – A Tiny Girl with a Big Heart Rozie is a 1-year-old, 3.5 lb teacup Yorkshire Terrier with a huge personality packed into a tiny frame. Recently rescued from an abusive breeder, Rozie came to us underweight and missing much of her hair—but don’t let that fool you. This little survivor is thriving now! She’s been fully vetted, spayed, and is on her way to a full recovery. With a healthy appetite, her silky coat is already starting to grow back, and she’s slowly gaining the weight she needs. Rozie is full of joyful energy! She loves to run, jump, and play, and despite her rough start in life, she adores people and is always ready to snuggle. Her favorite place? Curled up in soft bedding or being carried close in her doggie sling, soaking up love and attention from her foster mom. She gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a gentle, loving home where she can continue to heal, grow, and be spoiled like she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion with lots of spirit and even more love to give, Rozie might just be your perfect match. Apply to adopt Rozie today—she’s ready to start her happily-ever-after! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
