Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. BeeJay is a sweet, small dog with a calmer energy that sets him apart from the typical high-strung Chihuahua. He came from a hoarding situation and is now discovering what it really means to be a dog — and he is ready to bloom! He would do best in a home with older, respectful children, as he’s not a fan of loud or rambunctious environments. BeeJay thrives in calm, patient settings where he can feel safe and loved. He’s still learning basic dog manners and needs a gentle adopter who’s willing to help guide him with kindness. One of BeeJay’s favorite things is doing zoomies around his foster home. His foster mom will wiggle her fingers and off he goes — full speed! It’s a great reminder of the playful spirit hiding under his quiet demeanor. BeeJay isn’t quite sure about car rides yet and may need a little time to adjust to new experiences. But once the day winds down, he transforms into the perfect cuddle buddy — happy to snuggle beside you while you relax. This little guy is ready for a second chance at life with someone who will love him, teach him, and let him feel safe. Because of his past he should have a friendly companion dog to help show him the ropes. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a bit of playful charm, BeeJay just might be the one. BeeJay is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/9 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am-Noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
