Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Rat Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 450. Looking for a cuddle buddy who will melt into your arms and stay by your side through thick and thin? Buttercup might just be your perfect match. This sweet, soulful-eyed girl is as gentle and loving as they come. She may be petite, but her heart is huge—and all she wants is to be near her people. Buttercup is incredibly affectionate and thrives on closeness. Whether she’s curled up in your lap, snuggled under the covers, or nestled between you and the couch cushion, she finds peace simply by being near you. She doesn’t fuss when picked up—she actually prefers it! Carry her around and she’ll happily settle in, soaking up every moment. Currently healing from a broken foot, Buttercup has surprised everyone with her resilience. She’s still playful, curious, and full of spunky little adventures, especially when it comes to sniffing out every scent in sight. Her nose is always at work, exploring the world indoors and out. Buttercup is leash trained and quiet unless she’s confined, so she may not be the best fit for apartment or shared-wall living. She’s not a fan of being crated but does beautifully when allowed to snuggle close instead. She would love a home with someone who is around often or who can give her lots of cozy companionship. She’s also open to having a calm, furry friend but would do just fine as your one and only love, too. If you're looking for a devoted, blanket-burrowing, heartwarming companion, Buttercup is waiting to be your new best friend. Buttercup is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/9 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am-Noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
