Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Oh hey, I’m Venice—three months bold, With legs too fast and a heart of gold. I’m black and brown, a stylish blend, A floppy-eared, four-pawed trend. I zoom, I spin, I chew your shoe, (It looked at me weird—what else to do?) I chase my tail like it owes me rent, Then crash mid-zoom like energy spent. Sweet Venice is one of 5 puppies who came into our care with their mother. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Don't wait to adopt this love and apply today at mpravl! Her adoption fee is $350. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at petsmpravl for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
