Parker is a tiny cuddle bug with a curly pug tail and a soft spot for cozying up close—his favorite move is crawling up your side to rest behind your neck, just quietly watching the room. It’s likely something he learned in his former home, a hoarding situation where he was one of 19 Chihuahua mixes living in one room, competing for space and safety. He came into his Texas foster home timid, thin, and covered in fleas. Despite all that, Parker has shown just how sweet and affectionate he can be. Once he feels safe, he warms up quickly and wants to be close. He’s been sleeping through the night in his crate and, although he whines or barks briefly when first left alone, he settles down after a few minutes. Parker will need a confident dog buddy in the home—someone to show him the ropes and help him build trust. He’s still learning basic dog manners and is looking for a patient adopter who understands that he’s catching up on the experiences he missed early on. In return, he’ll give you a loyal, loving presence who just wants a soft place to land and a lap to snuggle into. Parker is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/9 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9AM and 11AM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
