Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Rat Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 450. Lizza is a 5-year-old chihuahua/rat terrier mix with a big heart and a sweet personality. This gentle, goofy gal is as affectionate as they come — a true lap-lover who’s always eager to please. She was surrendered with her sister, Lunabelle, when their person could no longer care for them, and now she’s ready to find a new home filled with love, snuggles, and maybe a few squeaky toys. Friendly with people of all ages, pups big and small, and even dog-savvy cats, Lizza is a true social butterfly. While she could happily be your one-and-only, she also enjoys the company of fellow furry friends. She's mostly potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, and rides like a champ in the car. She’s on the lower-energy side and would love a calm home where she can nap, play, and go for walks to help her shed a few extra pounds. One of Lizza’s cutest quirks? She loves carrying a toy in her mouth — especially when heading outside, climbing stairs, or getting tucked into bed. She’s playful, yet easygoing, and while she might let out a bark at passing joggers, she’s quiet and calm in the house. Lizza is just looking for someone to love — someone who’ll laugh at her silly antics, cheer her on during her wellness journey, and share their couch (and maybe their heart) with her. Could that someone be you? Lizza is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/9 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9AM and 12PM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
