Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Hope Rescues is all volunteer, all visits must be scheduled you may do that by filling out an online application as that is needed for a visit. You can find an application our website. Our adoption fee is $275.00 which includes Rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, current heart worm test, DHPP booster, Bordetella vaccine, Microchip, Worming. This active sweetheart lives for adventure, greeting every day with a playful heart and a friendly wag. Whether he’s sprinting across the park or engaging in an impromptu game of fetch with his canine pals, Dan’s enthusiasm is nothing short of contagious. A natural among his doggo companions, his gentle nature and joyful antics leave a lasting impression on everyone he meets. He is good with other dogs with the same activity level, his interactions with cats remain a delightful mystery—equal parts curious and cautious. In short, Dan’s a one-of-a-kind blend of vitality, affection, and a little mischief that promises unforgettable adventures wherever his paws take him. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
