Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 550.00. All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston. Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system. To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters. Our adoption fee varies by dog. We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only. A FTA contract is required. No toddlers/no senior citizens Born in rescue to mom Taffy. Cricket is a happy, playful little girl. She's a love piggy. She's working on potty training, and goes clean/dry overnight in her kennel. Cricket's forever family will be a full/most time stay at home adult to help him become proficiently housebroken. Her children must be over the age of 5 and his new mom/dad must be under 55. This baby has a life expectancy of 15+ years. Adopters should plan accordingly.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
