Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 200. Hank is the most amazing dog ever according to his foster mom. Hank showed up at a rural firestation a few weeks ago and sadly no one claimed him. He has been living it up with his foster family ever since and been the most amazing dog they have had in a long time. Hank gets along amazingly well with kids, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and every other farm life you can think of. He loves to hang out outside but is content inside as well. He is also a very good quiet boy in the crate. In fact his foster mom hasn't heard him bark once. So he would even be good in an apartment. He is very lazy but can run with the best of them. He is about 4-5 years young and 47 lbs but could stand to gain a few pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, prevention and heartworm negative. What are you waiting for? His adoption fee is $200. Please use this link for the application to be approved for adoption: libbyandmacesplace/get-involved/adopt-a-furry-forever-friend/

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
