Description
Dog Breed: Terrier. At 7 years old, Zuzu is getting her first real taste of love and comfort. Rescued from a hoarding situation with eight other dogs, she’s quickly showing just how much affection she has to give. Zuzu is incredibly people-oriented—her favorite place in the world is your lap. Whether it’s cuddling, leaning in for pets, or just being close, she’s happiest by your side. Zuzu has been a superstar at mealtimes and is doing great with her potty habits—no poop accidents in her run, and she's making big progress with pee as she settles in. She’s also starting to meet other dogs and seems friendly and curious, though she sometimes gets a little overwhelmed and excited. With some guidance and structure, she’ll learn how to make friends calmly and confidently. She does get a bit anxious when alone, especially outside, and will chew things to self-soothe—so she’ll thrive in a home that can give her supervision, enrichment, and durable toys. Inside, with a comfy spot and someone to snuggle, she’s a total sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved. Zuzu’s past may not have been ideal, but her future is wide open—and she’s so ready to find a family to call her own. Could you be her happy ending? Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick prevention Apply here: 2pawsup/applications/adoption-application/

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
