Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). ADOPT IRIS Iris is an energetic and sweet girl who is always ready to play, and cuddle with you when it’s time. She loves long walks and sniffing the local flowers and grass. She may be small but she loves to snack right alongside you. Her favorite hobbies are laying by a window and bird watching as well as watching the horse and buggies pass by. Iris loves to chew on her bones and stuffed toys. She’s not afraid to make a mess with her toys but with those cute puppy eyes you can’t be too upset with her. She will make a great dog for someone with other dogs and children and a fenced yard. She is also potty trained and crate trained. If you love sharing a bed with your pets then iris is the perfect companion for a cuddle especially when you rub her tummy. Fair warning she will take the blanket from you for herself. Iris is about 10 months old, spayed, microchipped, and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. She is a 50lb mixed breed girl looking for love! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
