Dog Breed: Unknown breed. IN VERMONT Meet Cheerio! youtu.be/raEU1Zdll-8 Cheerio is 9 months old, female (approx. DOB 9-21-24), 43 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed and micro-chipped. Cheerio was saved on her last day from the shelter. She had been found roaming as an abandoned, unloved, homeless pup. Cheerio is an athletic and playful pup who greets life, and you, with full-hearted enthusiasm! This curious girl loves plush squeaky toys and retrieves them, tasty treats, and a good sniff around! She's doing great with her leash and social manners and has a boundless spirit and love for play. If you’re ready for a fun-loving companion with lots of potential, Cheerio might just be your perfect match! Cheerio has medium+ energy, does well with other dogs and loves to play, appears to be potty trained, and may be ok with cats (all cat and dog relationships are different). A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
