Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Macaroni – Your New Best Friend! Macaroni is a happy-go-lucky 8-month-old schnoodle/doodle mix pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! This 40 lb energetic girl is ready to bring fun, affection, and endless joy into your life. Macaroni loves to play—whether it’s chasing a ball, going for walks, or exploring new places, she’s always up for an adventure. She’s also a big fan of cuddle time and will gladly curl up next to you on the couch after a day of fun. As a young pup, Macaroni has bursts of high energy and the occasional case of the zoomies, but she’s also incredibly smart and eager to learn. She’s working on basic commands and responds very well to positive reinforcement. Her desire to please makes training a rewarding experience. She sleeps quietly in her crate and is fully potty trained with minimal accidents. Macaroni does great with children and other dogs, and she’s looking for a family who will continue her training and shower her with love. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and loyal companion, Macaroni might just be the perfect match for you! Bonus - she is up to date on all vaccinations and is spayed. Ready to meet Macaroni? Submit an application today! Macaroni is available for adoption on or after 08/03/25 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL #16182.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
