Description
Dog Breed: Terrier (short coat). A5711776 Say hello to Brittany , a 1-year-old Terrier and a picture-perfect example a medium sized All-American puppy dog⨠With her plush black and tan coat, warm whiskey eyes, and a floppy tongue that pops out when she’s extra happy, Brittany is pure joy in a petite package. She’s just stepping out of puppyhood and into her teenage years, full of curiosity, energy, and a love for exploring the world (and meeting new dog friends!). Playful and outgoing, she’d thrive in an active home with regular play, walks, or even runs or hikes - and she’s just as cuddly as she is adventurous, especially if head pats are involved. While she could use a refresher on the puppy basics, Brittany is eager to learn and very motivated to please - she already rocks a strong “sit”! With her bright mind and sweetly social personality, she’d be a great fit for group training classes or doggy daycare to keep her engaged and happy. If you’re looking for a deeply loving, endlessly loyal lifetime companion to learn and grow with throughout the years, Brittany is just the girl for you! -1 year old brown and black Terrier -27 pound spayed female -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 7/8/25 as a stray -plush, classic black and tan coat, with warm whiskey eyes that will easily win your heart, and a silly floppy tongue that peeks out whenever this sweet girl is extra excited -just exiting puppyhood and entering her teenage years, which really shows in her demeanor! -super curious about the world around her, always ready to explore, and especially curious to meet other pups -very outgoing and playful - will thrive with regular playtime at home, romps around the yard, or even hikes or runs with you! -just as affectionate as she is curious - leans in close for pets and cuddles, but is especially eager for head pats - she loves to please and will eagerly show off her very strong "sit"! -could benefit from a refresher on the puppy basics - leash work and standard commands/obedience lessons - exceptionally smart and eager to please so should be a star in obedience training! -given her outgoing but obedient nature, she could also be an excellent candidate for group lessons, and could even benefit from doggy daycare, due to the regular activity and continued socialization BRITTANY’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/pHL8 For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lorunitedhopeforanimals Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/ Use their unique ID NUMBER. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
