Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Available for Adoption – Meet Banjo! Say hello to Banjo, the sweet and gentle pup who's ready to find his forever family! Banjo is the best friend you’ve been dreaming of—loving, calm, and always ready for cuddles. He enjoys quietly playing with his toys, gently romping with his friends, and curling up in your lap for some snuggles and kisses. He’s also a fan of a relaxed game of tug-of-war! Banjo is: gentle, well-mannered, and easygoing, eager to learn and please his family, working on basic commands like come, sit, down, leave it, and stay, crate trained, making great progress with potty training, wonderful with kids, cats, and other dogs. Banjo can entertain himself, but truly thrives when he’s around his people. Whether you're looking for a playmate, cuddle buddy, or calm companion—Banjo is the full package. He has had a vet visit, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated - DHPP x 4, Rabies & Bordetella x 2. He’s had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), two dewormings, and 2 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
