Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Irish Wolfhound / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Hi, I’m Annie! I have been with my foster family for a week now and feel like I can start to show my personality. I’m shy to start, but happy to meet and take pets from anyone. I’m a pretty big girl (mostly just hair, if you ask me) but I don’t jump up on them or cover them with kisses. I’ll take a few pets then find a place to relax. I haven’t shown them that I love to cuddle yet, but I certainly like to be in the same room with them. If you’re around, I’ll hang out and take a snooze by you. If you ask my fosters, they’ll laugh and say I snore like a chainsaw. It’s really just my big dog purr. Crate trained? Check that box! My big crate is my safe place here. I spend the night in there with the door closed without a complaint. During the day, if I need a comfy spot, they leave the door open and I go in and out throughout the day. House trained? Yes. I did have one accident here, but I don’t think they knew my “schedule”. Am I leash trained? I’m excited to share that I have made improvements on the leash! I wouldn’t say I’m a “rock star” yet, but I’m starting to figure this leash thing out and redirect with less effort. Other dogs? You bet, I’m good with it if they are. I came from a home with two other dogs. I do good with one resident dog here, I’ve done well with other dogs in a neutral setting. Excited to share I have also made friends with the resident dog we’ll affectionately call Mr. Territorial Crabby Pants. We are now work from home office co-nappers! If I can gain his trust, I’m pretty confident I can adapt to any anxious resident pets in your home (with proper slow introductions, of course). Toys? Yeah, they’re OK. I hate to use up too much energy chasing a ball, but I’ll give it a couple minutes. Overall, I’m just your average low-maintenance chick. I don’t ask for much. A little food, water, a pet once in a while and someone to hang out with. If you’re home and behind doors where I can be around you, I will demonstrate my howling skills to let you know I miss you. If you happen to have one of these camera things on me that you can talk through, tell me to lay down and I will. Thanks for reading this far and please consider me if you’re looking for a relaxed chick companion with lots of loving left. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and rec ommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Annie is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
