Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed. Hi there, I’m Masie! I’m a 3-year-old heeler mix, and I may be completely blind—but I don’t let that slow me down one bit! I love other dogs and feel my absolute best when I have a confident pup buddy to help me out. I can go up stairs just fine, but going down more than a couple is tricky, so I’d do best in a one-level home or staying on the main floor. I’m mostly potty trained and totally pee pad trained (yay me!), and I think I’ll have outdoor pottying down in no time—especially if I have a friend to show me how it’s done. I don’t really like kennels (they’re a little scary when you can’t see), but my foster gives me my own room with a baby gate and I’ve been such a good girl—I never try to jump or escape. I’m gentle, smart, and full of love. I just need a little guidance and a lot of cuddles. Could you be the family I’ve been waiting for? Now accepting adoption applications! All of our adoption fees include veterinary exam, age appropriate vaccines (up to date at time of adoption) spay/neuter, microchip and deworming. Puppies $550 Kittens $200 Adult fees vary, please message our page.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
