Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 600. Meet Winona: The Spicy Soft-Eared Sass Queen Winona—affectionately known as Nona—is that friend who wants to join the group chat but thinks everyone’s plotting against her. She watches the dogs play and her sister snuggle, but the second you reach toward her—poof, she’s gone like you owe her money. Lately, though, Little Miss Nona is finally coming around and starting to act like a dog who actually wants to be pet. Yay! She even strutted around in a dress today and barely fussed with it. She’s curious, assertive, and clearly the boss (just ask her sister Rachel, who shuts down every time Winona throws one of her dramatic barky fits). It’s a whole soap opera, and we’re just the treat dispensers. Nona’s confidence has grown so much—it’s amazing to see her relaxed and happy, even working alongside her sister but doing her own thing. She’s had no potty accidents and is learning that life can actually be pretty great. She’s still not a fan of small, loud kids, but she loves other dogs and really needs one in her home to help her feel secure. She also does well with cats and rides quietly in the car. At night, she transforms into the sweetest snugglebug, curling right up against your chest like she’s been doing it forever. She’s chaotic, charming, and a little suspicious of your intentions—but she’s blossoming beautifully and absolutely worth every bit of patience and love. Plus, she’s got the softest, floppiest ears on Earth. WinonaRyder is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. More About Jack Chi BreedOverview:
The Jack Chi is a delightful designer breed, a cross between the spirited Chihuahua and the energetic Jack Russell Terrier. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parents, this hybrid typically inherits a compact size, weighing between 8-18 pounds and standing 10-15 inches tall. Their physical appearance varies, often featuring a short, smooth coat in colors like black, white, tan, or a combination, with alert, intelligent eyes. Temperamentally, Jack Chis are known for being playful, intelligent, and loyal companions. They possess the Chihuahua's affectionate nature and the Jack Russell's zest for life, making them engaging pets. While adaptable to apartment living due to their smaller stature, they require regular exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. They can be good with families who understand their need for consistent training and socialization, especially with younger children. Notable health considerations for the Jack Chi include potential predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, dental issues, and heart problems, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
