Dog Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Currently located at our Chrisney, IN location Meet Maryse! This 6-month-old tan and white sweetheart is full of spunk, charm, and puppy energy! Weighing in at just 16 lbs, Maryse is the perfect mix of petite and playful. She came into our care with five of her puppy pals and has been winning hearts ever since with her goofy antics and zest for life. Maryse does great with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion to romp around with. However, she kindly requests a cat-free household—feline friends just aren't her thing. If you're looking for a young pup who's equal parts silly and sweet, Maryse may be your girl! Apply to adopt at ITVrescue and bring this joyful little spark into your life! All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
