Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $350.00. Hi there! I'm Bella Dee, an 18-month-old (ish) doodle girl currently looking for my forever home. I'm a sweet, happy, loving, smart, and eager-to-learn puppy. I work hard to be a good listener and pay attention when my humans tell me to do something. My foster mom says I'm a really quick learner. While I'm living with my foster family, I'm learning how to stay calm when I see and meet people – I'm learning to sit when I'm introduced so I don't jump. I'm getting good at commands like sit, down and come. I'm starting to learn 'leave it', 'stay' and 'be easy'. Companionship is my superpower. I follow my foster mom and dad around to keep them company (not because I'm anxious), and I'm learning the ropes of leash walking. I went to the farmers' market this past weekend and had a blast! A funny thing about me is that I get the zoomies first thing in the morning and after dinner, only for about 10 minutes. It's crazy how fast I am! And, it's impressive that I settle right down after I run out of my need for speed. Like all dogs, I shed, but with a bit of hair care, it can be kept to a minimum. During the day, I prefer to be out where I can be close to people, but I sleep all night in my crate without complaining. I have a microchip, all my shots, and am spayed. I love to play with other dogs, and I am not afraid or reactive to children. Children are pretty new to me, but I want to be friends with them without chasing them. Food is yummy, but I don't worry about dogs or people stealing my food. Here's another funny thing about me - when my humans are eating, I get curious to know what they're eating, but then I'm happy to go lay down quietly and wait for them to finish their meal. I have a healthy coat, have a great figure at 29 lbs and don't have any skin issues. I'm proud to say that I'm an all-around healthy pup. Bonus: I'm already potty-trained! I'll let you know when I have to go, and like all my furry friends, I depend on you to listen when I ask. I chew on chew toys - not furniture, and I don't dig up flowerbeds or the lawn. I love to watch what's going on around me. Squirrels, bugs and birds fascinate me - I love to watch them scurry around and try to pounce on them. I'll steal a sock now and then, but only to run around or play hide and seek – I don't chew them up or ruin them. That's me in a nutshell! So now you might be wondering what I'm hoping for from a forever family. My best love match is a family ready for a devoted cuddle-rific companion. With consistent love, positive guidance and reinforcement, I will grow through puppyhood into the lifelong family member we all want me to be. And, of course, I need my family to sprinkle in some patience for my occasional puppy-like behavior, bursts of energy and enthusiasm. In return, I'll be my family's agreeable, sweet and devoted lifelong friend for everyday living and adventure – hiking, traveling, gardening, walking, and quiet lounging. I am a genuine joy and a goofball who brings smiles and laughter to the people around me. Hope to see you soon. Bella Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
