Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Fat Tony "I’m not shy to steal your attention. Did someone say snuggles? I volunteer first!" Hi, I’m smart, confident, and I know exactly what I want: you. If there’s a lap nearby, chances are I’m already on it. I’m super affectionate and love being the center of attention—whether it’s training time or cuddle time. At just over 3 months old and about 10–12 lbs, I’m growing into a medium-sized pup with a moderate exercise style: enough energy for playtime, but always ready to chill with you. I get along great with kids, other pups, and basically anyone willing to admire me. I love being outdoors, learning new things, and being part of the family. Chickens? I leave them alone—I’m too focused on people. I’m playful, trainable, and ready to love big in my forever home. Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
