Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. My name is Ana Banana and yes I’m just as fun as my name. I’m about one year old and weigh around 45 pounds. I’m probably a terrier mix, but my foster dad calls me his “cuddly coyote”. I’m at the tail end of puppy stage, but I know how to be a big girl too. I know how to use the dog door and I never have accidents in the house. I also know my crate is my safe place and I’m great at spending time in there when I’m left alone at home. I love going hiking and I’m working on being more calm on a leash. I get along great with just about every dog I meet and love to play, play, PLAY! I haven’t been around cats although I do love to chase the bunnies at home. I’m very outgoing with people, but little kids can sometimes make me nervous. I’ve loved all my friends in my foster home, but I’m ready to find a forever family of my very own. Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
