Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (short coat). CVRR is listing this dog as a COURTESY to the actual owner. This dog is not currently in the care of CVRR, and CVRR makes no representations or guarantees for the animal's behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed has been given by the dog's current owner and should be verified by any interested potential adopter. This stunning 3-year-old Siberian Husky is everything you’d expect from the breed—majestic, playful, and full of personality! He'll keep you entertained with his tricks, and he does great on a leash. He’s neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and crate trained, making him an easy transition for a loving new home. Personality and Behavior: - Loves people: super friendly with strangers both at home and in public - Great with kids: playful, gentle, and always ready for fun - Gets along great with other dogs, especially those who enjoy playing - Hasn't been around cats or farm animals, but his instinct to chase small animals suggests they might not be the best match - Hardly ever barks (except that one time...with a turtle!), though he'll ask for things with a howl - Super intelligent and knows lots of tricks Feeding and Routine: - Eats twice a day - A little picky with dry food, but give him wet food and he's all in! Notes: Atlas prefers to eat without competition; he's not a fan of sharing his meals with the other dog in the home. No aggression otherwise, just a little food-protective. Ideal Home: This beautiful boy would thrive with an active individual or family who enjoys outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal to let him safely explore and get out some of that classic Husky energy. He’d do well as a solo dog or with other friendly, respectful dogs, and would love having kids to romp around with. Bonus Husky Traits: - Likely to be the best conversation partner with his adorable howls - A loyal companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold - Stunning good looks (seriously, you'll get stopped on every walk) If you're looking for a social, loving, goofy, and energetic sidekick, this Husky might just be your perfect match. Fill out an application to meet him and see for yourself why everyone he meets falls in love!

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
