Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet Margo! She is an approximately 1 year old, female, Heeler/Cattledog mix who weighs approximately 19lbs. She was found with her siblings off 276 and 549 in Rockwall and never reclaimed. She is excited to find her second chance and a family who has the time and patience to let her come out of her shell! She has not been tested with cats or kids but if you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure they get along. Margo will need help learning everything from walking on a leash to house training but is a very smart girl who can learn very quickly! Her adoption fee is $125 and that includes her spay, microchip, rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm test. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
