Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet Mabel! She is an approximately 1 year old, female, Heeler/Cattle dog who weighs approximately 21lbs. She was found with her siblings off 276 and 549 in Rockwall and never reclaimed. She a bit timid and is looking for a family that has time and patience to help her come out of her shell! She is use to having dog companions and would benefit from another furry friend in the home. Unfortunately, we do not know how she will do with cats or small children. With plenty of patience and love, she has potential to be a wonderful companion! Her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
