Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (long coat). UHA5714489/ #A5714489 Say hello to Opal , a breathtakingly beautiful 10-year-old German Shepherd with the softest, fluffiest coat and eyes full of warmth and wisdom. ✨ She’s like a living teddy bear - calm, gentle, and incredibly snuggly - and while her luxe coat needs a little brushing, the love you’ll get in return makes it more than worth it. After what seems like a rough past, Opal still wags her tail at every kind word or soft touch, soaking up affection with quiet gratitude and giving it back tenfold. She’s polite, well-mannered, and serene - no jumping or barking - and would make a lovely big sister to other dogs in the home. Opal would thrive in a peaceful home, especially with a senior or solo person who needs a loyal companion to share their days with. A favorite among shelter staff and volunteers, Opal is so ready to leave shelter life behind and finally enjoy the love and comfort she deserves in her golden years. Come take home this sweetheart today! -10 year old black and brown German Shepherd -78 pound female - Opal has not yet been spayed, but this may be due to her older age; the shelter can likely help with getting this done if needed! -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Opal will need to be adopted on a health waiver due to some old age related achy joints, which may be easily managed with a regular pill or supplement - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 7/18/25 as a stray -absolutely stunning, incredibly soft teddy bear of a pup, with a long, lush coat and warm, tender eyes that will tempt you in for a snuggle then steal your heart -with such a luxe coat, she will need a bit of regular brushing, but with a little TLC, Opal will shine bright as a diamond in the rough -after 10 years of what seems to have been a not-so-kind life, this darling girl still wags her tail after every kind word or gentle touch - gratefully accepting affection and ready to give it back tenfold -very polite and well-mannered - a quiet, graceful presence, no jumping up or reactive barking - would make an excellent big sister to other pups you might already have! -This sweet old gal needs a hero to scoop her up so that she can live her golden years in comfort and peace, being loved and cherished as she so rightfully deserve; however, Opal can also be a hero for someone, especially someone who needs the company, like a solo household, especially a senior -Opal is a major favorite among both shelter staff and the volunteers, and we all want to see her out of here ASAP, with a gentle, loving forever family! ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.
