Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Hi, my name is Maggie and I'm about 14 weeks old. Me and my litter mate, Jake, were rescued by Bond County Humane Society from a kill shelter in TN. We were found as strays when we were about 10 weeks old. I am friendly and love attention. I get vocal when I see another dog getting attention and it's not me. I am not very interested in toys. I love food and being with people. I like to go for leash walks and run in the yard. I am still working on my puppy manners. I am eager to please and already know "Sit" for a treat. I am crate trained. I am available for immediate adoption. I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped. My adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at .bondcohumane. Email the completed profile to the address provided. A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
