Description
Dog Breed: American Bulldog (medium coat). Order up! One chonky meatball, READY for his forever home! Tank is a 4 year old pittie bulldog mix. Tank is VERY ATTACHED to his people and wants nothing more than to hang out with you- even just chilling in the same room works great for Tanky. 100% potty trained, crate trained, doesn't make a peep when left alone (even for hours at a time), and is a super polite walker- no leash pulling here. Ole Tankini has lived successfully with kids and another dog but he said he may prefer to be the only dog in the home. He LOVES belly rubs, like more than any dog we've ever met. Tank is a bit wary of new people and likes a slow intro, so he'd love a home that can help with more confident socialization, although we think that will pretty easy because he just needs a sniff or two to turn a stranger into a friend.

Breed overview

American Bulldog
Overview:
Originally used in the 17th century for bull baiting—a wagering sport in which dogs fought bulls in a ring—Bulldogs had taller, more athletic frames (much like the Olde English Bulldogge). When bull baiting was outlawed in 1835, Bulldogs were bred to be kinder, heavier and more relaxed. However, American Bulldogs—which were brought to the U.S. before this breeding pattern—retained the size and strength of the original Bulldogs. Great family dogs, American Bulldogs are sweet to children. They love family-oriented occasions and want to be involved. With proper training and socialization, you’ll find them outgoing and exceedingly loyal. Some American Bulldogs will go to great lengths to protect their masters. Tough and determined, American Bulldogs have an impressive stamina and strength. They are always game for playtime in the back yard or working in the field.
